php5-cli software package provides command-line interpreter for the php5 scripting language, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install php5-cli
php5-cli is installed in your system.
Make ensure the php5-cli package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep php5-cli *
You will get with php5-cli package name, version, architecture and description in a table
